Martial Arts

Budoshin

Aïkitaï jutsu is a school of Aïkido inherited from the style of Senseï Tadashi ABE, precursor and pioneer of Aïkido in Europe.

Sensei Mickael Charles, 6th Dan and International Technical Director, and his students will be presenting this martial art combining empty-hand techniques, long stick, short stick and bokken (wooden sword).

The Budoshin will be offering initiations so that the public can get a feel for the techniques, assisted by the school’s students.

武道心合気流へようこそ

Welcome to the Budoshin Aiki Ryu. Initiations: 7 years minimum

Dojo Waryu

Kenjutsu and Battōjutsu are the Japanese martial arts most closely associated with the sword. Whether katana or wakizashi, nodachi or tantō, any type of sword used by the samurai is included. Straddling the line between Zen and Shinto, derived from bujutsu and heihō, with an influence that goes right back to the legendary Miyamoto Musashi, Wa Rei Ryu continues this age-old tradition of the art of the sword: come and see us in action at Japan Impact!

…and after seeing our demonstration come and discover the art of the samurai sword by trying it out.

For two days you’ll be able to try out, briefly and with guidance, some basic strikes and cuts (kihon waza) as well as codified combat situations (kumitachi) using bokken (wooden sword).

This will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the samurai and their martial arts.

Iarumas

Iarumas is a multi-disciplinary martial arts club, from the katana to the medieval longsword, via the naginata and halberd, which teaches principles based on technique rather than style. Martial arts are learned through a fun and original approach. Iarumas is active in the world of cinema and events, creating and performing stunts and hiring props.
