Come and discover the art of Japanese pastries with Emma Obadina, an international pastry chef specializing in this field.
During a workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to make Nerikiri; small pastries made from sweetened white bean paste, glutinous rice flour and filled with red bean paste.
Once the Nerikiri has been assembled, it is carefully sculpted to represent an element of nature, often related to the season.
Nerikiri go very well with Japanese tea, which is why they are often featured in tea ceremonies.
What’s more, if you’d like to try other pastries, you’ll be able to buy them directly from her booth! Mochi, made-to-order dorayaki, cookie, warabi, Dango, Japanese cheesecake… and much more!
Participation in the workshop is by registration only.

The art of tidying up with Yuri Saito
To live happily and feel at home, you need to know how to organise things properly. At least that’s how Yuri Saito sees it, and she’ll be introducing you to Japanese-style tidying, which has been popularised in recent years by Marie Kondo (KonMari), of whom Yuri is a certified consultant. For them, tidying up is an art that can be learned and passed on, an art that enables us to sort out what makes us happy and what clutters us up, an art that is also useful for making important decisions in our lives.
Yuri Saito will also be presenting a second lecture together with Yasuka from MidnightBlossom on how to live with the yokais in our homes.
Yuri Saito’s lectures will take place on Saturday 17 February 2024 at Japan Impact.
